Finding our way in the diaspora of game worlds

The Lives of a Hundred Million People Pale in Comparison to being Able to Spelunk a Little Further

As the intrepid trio of adventurers enters the domain of The Scientist, they are greeted with an alarmingly large missile, and an ominous map of the world. Very soon some key sites are highlighted upon this map — including France, Sweden, South Africa, China and Brazil. As the ignition keys are activated, this map along with every other screen in sight turns a fitting shade of red.

Awooga.

The map is not rendered to especially great detail, as it’s not required yet remains in keeping with Double Fine’s signature cartoon style. It does, however, serve as an interesting narrative device, illustrating just how broad the Scientist’s benefactor’s ‘vision’ really is…

Captured during my first playthrough of this level, on PC.
